JD here again. Great to be back in Lakeland! 2020 is already looking to be a good year for commercial real estate, including some exciting projects being pushed forward by local organizations. I went to a test opening of The Joinery, Lakeland’s first “co-op” food and market space like Armature Works in Tampa. It was phenomenal. Some A+ options there, including a booth managed by the “voted best chef in Tampa”.
Catapult 3.0 is looking to open in Q1 as well, a three-story, 40,000 SF startup and maker space. There have been some very cool (and very profitable) businesses that have come out of Catapult, and I’m excited to see what’s next. I’ve put a few of them in Baron properties to make sure we support local innovation.
Publix signed a direct lease deal at 3825 Duff Road this week for 48,000 SF of upcoming retail space. It’s a good sign they are continuing to expand, and perhaps that means more GreenWise stores in the near future.
What can we do, as commercial agents, to inspire more of this investment and innovation in the city? I’d like to hear what you think.
